Notice of Termination of Investigation
Pursuant to Section 221 of the Trade Act of 1974, as
amended, an investigation was initiated in response to a
petition filed on October 6, 2016 by a company official of
Austin Westran, Byron, Illinois. The subject firm produced
steel products. Prior to the facility closure in December 2016,
the subject firm requested that the petition be withdrawn. The
Department, however, did not receive the request and issued a
subpoena to the subject firm to obtain required information.
Upon receipt of the subpoena, the subject firm restated its
request to withdraw the petition and, in a separate letter, the
Assignee for the Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors
affirmed the request to withdraw the petition. Consequently, the
investigation has been terminated.
