Certification Regarding Eligibility to Apply for
Worker Adjustment Assistance

In accordance with Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 USC
2273), as amended, the Department of Labor herein presents the
results of an investigation regarding certification of eligibility
to apply for worker adjustment assistance as a secondarily affected
worker group.
The investigation was initiated in response to a petition
received on July 11, 2003 and filed by the company on behalf of
workers of Fishing Vessel (F/V) Njord, State of Alaska Commercial
Fisheries Entry Commission Permit #S15B61561E, Elfin Cove,
Alaska. The workers produce fresh salmon.
The investigation revealed that the group of workers covered
by State of Alaska Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission Permit

salmon. The subject firm lost at least 20 percent of its
business with a processor of salmon, whose workers were certified
eligible to apply for trade adjustment assistance.

Elfin Cove, Alaska qualify as adversely affected secondary workers
under Section 222 of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended. In
