We are where you are: contact your local American Job Center to assist with your downsizing or closure needs.

• Unemployment Insurance Short-Time Compensation may be available to allow employees to work shorter hours instead of being laid off and be compensated for their lost work time with partial unemployment benefits.
• Each state operates a Rapid Response program, which creates and delivers customized strategies in partnership with businesses to respond to layoffs and closings. Contact your local Rapid Response team.
• Additional services through the Trade Adjustment Assistance program are available for layoffs and plant closures. You can petition to provide aid to workers who lose their jobs or whose hours are reduced as a result of increased imports.
