The attached checklist updates the status of Training and Employment Guidance Letters (TEGLs) since the last checklist transmitted by Training and Employment Notices 7-01 and 7-01, Change 1.

General Administration Letters (GALs) have been eliminated as an advisory series. However, active GALs remain in the system. Attached are listings showing the status of these GALs as of October 1, 2005.

The purpose of this Training and Employment Notice is to announce the availability of several recently released resources designed to facilitate the coordination of human service transportation systems. These resources were developed under the United We Ride initiative. United We Ride is an interagency Federal initiative that supports states and localities in developing coordinated human service delivery systems. In addition to awarding state coordination grants, United We Ride provides state and local agencies a transportation coordination and planning self-assessment tool, technical assistance, and other resources to help communities succeed.

To provide guidance to the states in determining and allocating the costs of assessing and collecting state taxes that are collected along with state unemployment compensation (UC) taxes, but are not used solely for UC purposes.

To provide information to the workforce investment system on the requirements for employee identification at the point of hire for Hurricane Katrina impacted individuals.

To announce the postponement of the Dallas and Orlando Agricultural Business and Workforce System Integration Forums,originally scheduled for September 19-20,2005(Dallas),and October5-6,2005 (Orlando).
