1. Purpose.To announce the extension of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval of Forms ETA 843 and ETA 841, contained in ET Handbook No. 384, Unemployment Compensation for Ex-servicemembers (UCX) Handbook.
2. Background. States operate the UCX program under agreement with the Secretary of Labor and in accordance with Federal law at 5 U.S.C. 8521, as amended, and the Department's regulations at 20 CFR Part 614. Federal law at 5 U.S.C. 8502(b) further provides that, except where inconsistent with Federal law, UCX benefits are paid under the same terms and conditions as provided to privately employed individuals under the State law.
3. OMB Approval.The reporting requirements are approved by OMB according to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 under OMB approval No. 1205-0176 to expire March 31, 2006. Respondent's obligation to reply to these reporting requirements is required to obtain or retain benefits (20 CFR Part 625).
4. Disclosure Statement. Persons are not required to respond to this request unless it displays an OMB approval number. Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to total 110 annual hours, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information.
