Training Seminars for State Employment Security Agency (SESA) Nonmonetary Determination Staff on Benefit Timeliness and Quality Measures. |
Purpose. To announce Fiscal Year 1998 training seminars for State Employment Security Agency (SESA) BTQ nonmonetary determination personnel.
References. ET Handbook No. 301, Revised January, 1998.
Background. ET Handbook No. 301, Revised January 1998, requires quarterly quality reviews of nonmonetary determinations. These reviews are conducted by a review team comprised of at least two QPI experts plus another QPI expert to act as tiebreaker in disputed reviews. The National Office conducts annual seminars to provide training to ensure a cadre of expert review team members are available to conduct the reviews.
Participants and Objectives. Two training seminars are scheduled in 1998 for SESA nonmonetary determination staff who have responsibility for quality evaluations of nonmonetary determinations. These seminars will begin at noon Monday and end at noon Friday. Both seminars will be in Washington, D.C., with the first seminar beginning September 14, 1998, and the second seminar beginning September 21, 1998. Seminar size will be limited to permit more comprehensive discussion. SESAS will be responsible for travel and per diem costs for SESA staff to attend training sessions. Hotel information will be provided at a later time.
Action Required. State Administrators are requested to notify appropriate SESA staff of the upcoming BTQ quality training seminars and provide Regional Office staff with the name, title, and estimated travel cost of each SESA participant who will be attending, no later than June 22, 1998.
Inquiries. Direct any questions to the appropriate Regional Office.
