Training Seminars for State Employment Security Agency (SESA) Nonmonetary Determination Staff on Benefit Timeliness and Quality Measures (BTQ)

  1. Purpose. To announce hotel arrangements for scheduled training in St. Louis and California, additional sessions in Washington, D.C. and California with a realignment of designated Regions, and to provide a copy of the agenda.

  2. References. UIPL 10-96, UIPL 10-97, UIPL 20-97, and ET Handbook No. 301, Third Edition.

  3. Nonmonetary Determination Evaluation Training sessions.  To accommodate the number of SESA staff interested in attending the training, additional sessions have been scheduled and Regional/State designations revised. The current designations were made to balance attendance among the various sessions. The first session was held in Washington, D.C. May 5-9, 1997. The following six sessions are now scheduled:

    All nominees identified through April 28 have been accommodated at one of the sessions. Attendees for the DC,

    St. Louis, and Buena Park sessions should make reservations directly with the respective hotel as soon as possible. Registrants should identify themselves as part of the U.S. Department of Labor Group.

    The Washington, D.C. sessions are being held at Georgetown Suites, 1000 29th Street N.W., Washington, D.C. (telephone 202-298-1600). The room rate is $124 per night including taxes.

    The St. Louis, MO session will be conducted at the Renaissance St. Louis Hotel-Airport, 9801 Natural Bridge Road, St. Louis, MO 63134. (telephone 314-429-1100). The room rate is $74 per night including taxes.

    The Buena Park, CA sessions will be held at the Embassy Suites, 7763 Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, CA 90620 (telephone 714-739-5600). The room rate is $97 per night including taxes.

  4. Action Required. State Administrators are requested to notify appropriate SESA staff of the upcoming BTQ quality training seminars and provide Regional Office staff with the name, title, mailing address, and estimated travel cost of each SESA participant who will be attending as soon as possible.
