Unemployment Insurance Financial Handbook

 

  1. Purpose. To transmit ET Handbook 394, Unemployment Insurance Financial Data 1938 -1993.

  2. Reference. ET Handbook 394, Unemployment Insurance Financial Data.

  3. Background. ET Handbook 394 was last published as one complete edition in 1983. Since then, annual supplements have been issued to update the publication. This release compiles all previously published calendar year information with previously unpublished calendar year 1993 data into edition. Annual supplements will resume with the issuance of calendar year 1994 data.

  4. Handbook Data. All employment and wage data used in the Handbook tables were furnished by State Employment Security Agencies (SESAs) and may include estimates for some States. Note that columns 2 through 22 are for taxable employment only; columns 34 through 43 are for reimbursable employment only; columns 44 through 52 reflect Federal-State extended benefits information; and columns 53 through 57 contain previously unpublished information on the two most recent temporary Federal extended benefits programs: the Federal Supplemental Compensation (FSC) program (1982-1985) and the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program (1991- 1993).

  5. Action Required. SESAs are requested to review the attached tables and report any significant differences to the National Office (Attention: Tom Stengle, TEURA).

  6. Inquiries. Questions should be directed to the appropriate Regional Office.
