Supplementary Questions and Answers |
Purpose. To respond to additional questions raised by States and Regional Offices regarding implementation of Public Law 102-164 and to correct technical errors in UIPL 9-92.

Background. Public Law 102-164 created the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program, which was amended by P.L. 102-182 on December 4, 1991. The EUC program provides for different EUC durations depending on the State's total unemployment rate or the State's insured unemployment rate including exhaustions.
Action Required. State Administrators are requested to make a copy of this directive available to all appropriate staff.
