SUBJECT : One-Stop Career Center System Video

  1. Purpose. To announce the completion and distribution of the National One-Stop Career system video.

  2. Background. In response to requests from One-Stop implementation States, a National One-Stop video has been developed. The video is designed for use in explaining the One-Stop Career Center System to job seekers, employers, community leaders, workforce development partners, and the general public.

The video highlights the four basic principles of One-Stop: universality; customer choice; integration; and performance driven/accountability. It includes interviews with satisfied job seekers and employers and focuses on the common services offered by One Stops, the technology available through One-Stops, and the remote access options for tying into One-Stop services. The video's running time is approximately 15 minutes.

  3. Distribution and Use of the Video. Under separate cover, State One-Stop Leads will each receive 15 copies of the video for State use plus one copy for each of the State's official One-Stop Career Centers. The videos should arrive by the end of November 1997.

When using the video to educate interested groups, States and One-Stop center operators should be sure to have available reinforcing "leave-behind" literature reemphasizing the video's message. Included in such literature may be the recently issued National One-Stop Brochure as well as State and locally developed materials. Where possible, the addresses and websites for the closest One-Stop centers and services should be made available to the video viewers.

  4. Action  . One-Stop Leads are requested to send one copy of the video to each of their open centers. They are also encouraged to share copies of the video with their ES, JTPA, and other system partners.

All recipients are free to duplicate the videotape should additional copies be needed. Should you need additional copies of the National One-Stop Brochure, please contact your ETA Regional Office.

  5. Inquiries. Questions should be directed to your ETA Regional Office or to Elaine Kolodny of the National Office One-Stop Team by phone at 202-219-8395, extension 173, or by email at kolodny@doleta.gov.
