Purpose. To transmit to States the OMB approval number and instructions for the Worker Adjustment Annual Substate Area Report (WASAR) (ETA 9046).
Reference. TEIN 41-93.
Background. In March 1994, the proposed WASAR format and instructions for completion of this report were provided to the States pending OMB approval. This transmittal is to confirm that the format and reporting requirements, as originally proposed, have OMB approval and that States (including single SSA States) should implement this report.
OMB Approval and Reporting Burden. The WASAR requirements have been approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) according to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, as amended. The WASAR has been approved under OMB Approval Number 1205-0346 and the expiration date is September 30, 1996.
Reporting Requirements. The initial required submittal of the WASAR will be for the period ended June 30, 1994. The WASAR is due in the DOL/ETA National and appropriate Regional Offices 45 days after the end of a Program Year, i.e., by August 15. The approved format and instructions for completion of the WASAR are attached.
Action Required. State liaisons are requested to distribute the attached instructions to all officials within the State who need such information to implement the WASAR requirements.
