About the Study
The Chief Evaluation Office (CEO) partnered with the Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) and Division of Research & Evaluation (DRE) and funded the University of Texas Health Science Center at the Houston School of Public Health to conduct the Work-Related Violence Research Project: Overview and Survey Module and Focus Group Findings. The project report aims to summarize the development and field-testing efforts for a new module of survey questions and focus group protocols for work-related violence (WRV) research in Central America. Researchers provide final recommendations for future protocol implementation in the region. This project drew on information from local partners, existing research tools, and subject matter experts on WRV in Central America. This Department of Labor-funded study was a result of the annual process to determine the department’s research priorities for the upcoming year. It contributes to the labor evidence-base to inform international labor issues and policies and addresses departmental strategic goals and priorities.
- Develop survey questions, focus group protocols, and methodological recommendations for future research projects to collect nationally representative, gender-disaggregated data on the prevalence, nature, and possible consequences of adult (18 years of age and older) WRV in Central America.
