COLUMBUS, Ohio — Anheuser-Busch Cos. LLC, which makes Budweiser and Bud Light beers and other beverages, has been cited by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration for two repeat and eight serious safety violations following an inspection of its Columbus brewery's ammonia refrigeration system. Proposed penalties total $92,400.

CHICAGO —Miller Building Systems LLC has been cited for two willful safety violations for exposing workers to fall and overhead hazards while doing roofing work on a residential home under construction in Savoy. This is the fifth time the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited the company for similar violations in the past five years. WHD News Release: US Labor Department finds $616,187 in unpaid wages due to 52 workers hired to transport veterans to Department of Veterans Affairs' medical centers [07/31/2014]

MARION, Ill. — An investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division has determined that Topeka, Kansas-based Assisted Transportation Inc. failed to pay $616,187 in prevailing wages, fringe benefits and overtime to 52 employees, in violation of the Service Contract Act and Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. The employees provided wheelchair van services to veterans, transporting them between their homes and the Marion and Evansville, Indiana, VA Medical Centers.

LAKE MILLS, Wis. — Fiberdome Inc. has agreed to limit employee exposure to styrene, pay a $2,000 penalty and accept a general duty clause citation under the Occupational Safety and Health Act alleging that an employee was exposed to styrene over the industry agreed-upon level. The agreement resolves all outstanding citations issued to Fiberdome in September 2013 by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tonawanda Coke Corp. and Kirchner LLC face a total of $161,100 in fines from the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration following an explosion that occurred Jan. 31, 2014, at the 3875 River Road plant in Tonawanda. The explosion collapsed brick walls, damaged electrical equipment and injured two permanent plant employees and one temporary employee.
