US Department of Labor recovers $54K in back wages for 54 workers after employer repeatedly failed to issue paychecks

Investigation Findings: A U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division investigation found automotive parts manufacturer Teijin Automotive Technologies Inc. violated overtime and minimum wage provisions of the Fair Labor Standard Act when it failed to issue paychecks to 54 workers between March and August 2023. 

Back wages recovered: $54,185 in unpaid wages to 54 workers.

Quote: “No employer should need to be reminded to issue paychecks to workers for their hard-earned wages,” said Wage and Hour District Director Matthew Utley in Columbus, Ohio. “Workers who believe they are owed unpaid wages are asked to reach out to the Wage and Hour Division through the Workers Owed Wages website to receive the pay due to them.”
