Background: The Wage and Hour Division’s District Office in New Orleans is offering compliance assistance training on the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act to Acadiana employers in the logistics, warehousing and transportation industries. The presentation will review the employment relationship, hours worked, overtime obligations and regular rate of pay calculations. Representatives from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will provide information on the industries’ local labor market conditions.
“The event will allow the U.S. Department of Labor to provide compliance assistance to employers in logistics, warehousing and transportation industries,” said Wage and Hour District Director Troy Mouton, in New Orleans. “Working together with One Acadiana, the Wage and Hour Division is helping employers understand their legal obligations in support of its mission to promote and achieve compliance with labor standards to protect and enhance the welfare of the nation’s workforce.”
