US Department of Labor's Women's Bureau to host a forum on equal pay and working families in Atlanta on April 10, 2014

ATLANTA — The U.S. Department of Labor's Women's Bureau will host a forum to discuss pay equality and the challenges of working families. The event will take place Thursday, April 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT at The King Center Auditorium, 449 Auburn Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30312. The free event is open to the public and the media. Attendees can join the conversation on Twitter by using #WorkingFamilies.

Jodie Levin-Epstein, deputy director for the Center for Law and Social Policy, will deliver the keynote address. Nan Orrock, state senator for Georgia's 36th District, will deliver a legislative update.

The Atlanta Working Families Forum will also feature a panel of leaders from the Atlanta community. Carlis Williams, regional administrator for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families, will moderate the discussion. Panelists include:

• The Rev. Harriett Bradley, personal caregiver;
• Taifa Smith Butler, deputy director, Georgia Budget and Policy Institute;
• Charmaine Davis, chapter director, 9to5 Atlanta; and
• Natalie Keiser, interim executive director, The Center for Working Families.

Other organizations participating include the Center for Civil and Human Rights, 9to5 Atlanta and Georgia Women for a Change.
