U.S. Department of Labor Reminds Employers 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award Submission Deadline Is April 30, 2020
WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Department of Labor reminds the nation’s employers that the deadline to submit applications for the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion Award is April 30, 2020.
President Donald J. Trump signed into law the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 (HIRE Vets Act) on May 5, 2017, creating the only federal-level award that recognizes the commitment of job creators to hire America’s veterans.
“American employers are in search of skilled and dedicated workers, and our veterans are among the best recruits,” said Assistant Secretary for the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service John Lowry. “The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is earned by businesses that demonstrate a strong commitment to attracting and retaining veterans. In 2019, we had a strong showing, honoring employers that have hired more than 52,000 veterans since 2017.”
The HIRE Vets Medallion Award recognizes small, mid-sized and large businesses and non-profit organizations for demonstrating leadership in recruiting, employing and retaining America’s veterans.
