OSHA forms alliance with the Associated General Contractors of America to keep San Antonio construction workers safe

Background: In an effort to protect construction workers in San Antonio, Texas, OSHA and AGC signed an alliance to provide safety and health training to their members.

AGC dedicates its staff to promote safety and health awareness by training, educating and mentoring their members' construction businesses. They are committed to developing educational and training programs to facilitate resources needed to help workers and members stay safe and healthy at their work sites.

The AGC San Antonio Chapter serves over 425 member firms in 19 counties throughout South Texas. It contributes much to the community by building parks, hotels, stores, offices, schools, churches, hospitals and military facilities.

Through its Alliance Program, OSHA works with businesses, trade associations, unions, consulates, professional organizations, faith- and community-based organizations and educational institutions to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses. The purpose of each alliance is to develop compliance assistance tools and resources and to educate workers and employers about their rights and responsibilities.
