US Department of Labor announces $2.5 million grant competition for evaluation and monitoring of international child labor projects

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of International Labor Affairs today announced a $2.5 million competitive solicitation for a cooperative agreement to evaluate and monitor child labor projects funded by the agency.

The grant will fund a qualified organization or group of organizations that will design and implement impact evaluations for two ILAB-funded fiscal 2011 projects, develop comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plans for four ILAB-funded fiscal 2011 projects, and design and implement tracer studies for two previous Labor Department-funded projects. These tasks will be accomplished through close engagement with ILAB monitoring and evaluation staff, project grantee staff, host government officials and stakeholders.

The selected organization(s) and their staff must have significant expertise and experience in designing and implementing impact evaluations using rigorous quantitative methods in developing country contexts. In addition, the organization(s) must have expertise and experience in designing and implementing tracer studies as well as developing comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plans for complex development projects.
