$1.3M in incremental funding to continue recovery work in 29 West Virginia counties after spring 2015 storms

Use of Funds: On June 30, 2015, the U.S. Department of Labor approved this National Dislocated Worker Grant for up to $2,000,000 – with $670,000 released initially – to create temporary jobs for eligible individuals to assist with clean-up and recovery efforts as a result of severe storms in 29 West Virginia counties. The counties are Barbour, Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Jackson, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Marshall, McDowell, Mingo, Monongalia, Putnam, Raleigh, Ritchie, Roane, Summers, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, Webster, Wetzel, Wirt, Wood and Wyoming. The storms occurred from March 3, 2015, to April 11, 2015. WorkForce West Virginia will receive $1,330,000 to continue clean-up work, which includes clearing brush, debris and fallen trees from creeks and streams.
