Use of Funds: On Sept. 12, 2013, the Labor Department approved a National Dislocated Worker Grant for up to $4,131,089, with $2,391,662 released initially, to provide reemployment services to dislocated military service members and civilian workers at Fort Hood, in Killeen, and Red River Army Depot, in Texarkana. These rolling layoffs occurred from January 2013 through September 2013. The Texas Workforce Commission will receive $1,739,427 to continue the provision of these reemployment services, bringing the total funds awarded for this project to its fully approved amount of $4,131,089.
