US Department of Labor to hold ERISA Advisory Council meeting Dec. 12-13

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor will hold its final meeting of the 2024 Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, also known as the ERISA Advisory Council, on Dec. 12-13 at the department’s headquarters in Washington.

The meeting is open to the public and accessible online and via teleconference.

During the meeting, the council will present its observations and recommendations for the Secretary of Labor on its two 2024 study topics, “Making Welfare Plan Claims and Appeals Procedures More Accessible to Participants” and “Lifetime Income and Qualified Defined Investment Alternatives.”

Established by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the ERISA Advisory Council advises the Secretary of Labor and submits recommendations regarding the Secretary’s functions under ERISA.
