Los Angeles Compliance Assistance Seminar for Retirement Plan Fiduciaries To Be Held May 11

Los Angeles, California - “Getting It Right – Know Your Fiduciary Responsibilities,” a compliance assistance seminar sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), will take place in Los Angeles, California, May 11 at the Hilton Los Angeles, 5711 W. Century Boulevard.

The free seminar is part of a national fiduciary education campaign to increase awareness and understanding of basic fiduciary responsibilities associated with operating private-sector retirement plans. The California seminar is sponsored by the Labor Department in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, National Federation of Independent Business, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with only limited spaces available. The department’s “Getting It Right – Know Your Fiduciary Responsibilities” program will provide employers and plan officials with an understanding of the law and avoiding the most common enforcement problems fiduciaries face. The campaign also includes education materials on topics such as understanding fees and selecting an auditor.
