ERISA Advisory Council to Hold Final 2004 Meetings

Washington, DC - The final meetings of the 2004 Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans and its working groups will be held on November 9-10 at the U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. The three working groups and the Council session on the upcoming National Summit on Retirement Savings will occur in Room N-3437 A-C.
On November 9, the Working Group on Fee and Related Disclosures to Participants will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the Working Group on Health and Welfare Form 5500 Requirements from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Council members will finalize suggestions for the department with respect to the upcoming National Summit on Retirement Savings.
On November 10, the Working Group on Plan Fees and Reporting on Form 5500 will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The final 2004 plenary meeting of the Advisory Council will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Room S-2508 to vote on the working group reports and to submit those reports to Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao.

The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members, appointed to staggered three-year terms by the Secretary of Labor to provide advice on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans sponsored by private-sector employers. The members represent the general public, employers, employee organizations, and the fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
