U.S. Labor Dept. Forum on Health Care Advises “Buyer Beware!” Informational Gathering Presented by U.S. Department of Labor, Partners

San Francisco, California - The U.S. Department of Labor is hosting a “Buyer Beware!” forum for consumers, employers, insurance agents, third party administrators and health care providers on August 12, at the Pasadena Conference Center. The conference will provide information on how to recognize and avoid health care coverage issues, such as fraudulent health care arrangements and problems resulting from health plan mismanagement.
The Labor Department’s Employee Benefits Security Administration, together with the California Department of Insurance and Department of Managed Health Care, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Los Angeles Association of Health Underwriters, will present the information. California Speakers and panels will discuss how to recognize and respond to warning signs in health care arrangements, Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangements (MEWAs), and top ways to avoid trouble in health plans.
