Labor Department Extends Comment Deadline on Disclosure of Employee Benefit Plan Information

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration today published a notice in the Federal Register extending to February 22, 2001 the deadline for submitting public comments on the adequacy of its current rules requiring employers and employee benefit plans to disclose information to participants and beneficiaries in those

The department published a notice of request for information (RFI) in the September 14, 2000 Federal Register. After receiving numerous requests from the public, the department decided to extend the comment deadline for an additional period of time.

Comments on the RFI published last September are now due to be submitted to the department. Written comments should be addressed to the Office of Regulations and Interpretations, Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Avenue, NW, Room N-5669, Washington, DC, Attention: Disclosure RFI.
