FRANKLIN, OH ‒ The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Faurecia Emissions Control Systems NA LLC have reached an agreement that calls for the auto parts manufacturer – based in Franklin, Ohio – to abate hazards cited by OSHA in July 2019 and to pay penalties of $188,329. The company will remain in OSHA’s Severe Violator Enforcement Program.

DENVER, CO – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Kamphuis Pipeline Company – based in Grand Rapids, Michigan – have reached a settlement agreement that the excavating company will cease business operations and pay penalties of $509,071 for willful and serious violations of OSHA’s trenching and excavation standards.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has signed a two-year alliance with the Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry's Bureau of Workers' Compensation to provide employers and employees with information, guidance and access to training resources to promote safe and healthful workplaces.

SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has signed a strategic partnership with Holder Construction Group LLC and the Associated General Contractors of Georgia Inc. (AGC) to promote worker safety and health during the construction of the Newton County Georgia Project in Social Circle, Georgia.

LABELLE, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Twins Twins LLC for exposing employees to amputations at the company's facility in Labelle, Florida. The tortilla company faces $81,682 in penalties.

RIVIERA BEACH, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited UPS Inc. for failing to protect employees working in excessive heat after an employee suffered heat-related injuries near the Riviera Beach, Florida, facility. The company faces $13,260 in penalties, the maximum penalty allowed by law for a serious violation.

DALLAS, TX – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has ordered Kinder Morgan Inc. – an energy infrastructure company based in Houston, Texas - to pay a former employee back wages, damages, and attorney's fees after an investigation found that the company violated the whistleblower provisions of the Pipeline Safety Improvement Act (PSIA).

CHATTANOOGA, TN – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has ordered the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to reinstate a former employee who TVA placed on paid administrative leave, and then later terminated in retaliation for raising nuclear safety concerns.

MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA - A federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has awarded $1,047,399 in lost wages and punitive damages to two former employees of a Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, manufacturer after a jury found the company and its owner fired them in retaliation for their participation in a federal safety investigation.

LAKE BARRINGTON, IL – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Five Star Roofing Systems Inc. – based in Hartford City, Indiana – for exposing employees to fall hazards while performing roofing work at a commercial building site in Lake Barrington, Illinois. The company faces $220,249 in penalties for repeated fall protection violations.

ST. LOUIS, MO ‒ The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited J.H. Berra Construction Co. – based in St. Louis, Missouri – for exposing employees to excavation hazards at a residential construction site in Saint Charles, Missouri. The company faces penalties of $143,206.

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited L N Framing Inc. for exposing employees to fall hazards at a Jacksonville, Florida, worksite. The residential and commercial framing contractor faces $58,343 in penalties.

OSHA cited Choice Products for five egregious willful violations for failing to implement and train employees on lockout/tagout procedures to prevent unintentional contact with machine operating parts during service and maintenance. Inspectors also determined that the company failed to install machine guarding, and comply with forklift regulations.

OSHA cited Choice Products for exposing employees to similar machine hazards following an October 2016 inspection.

BUFFALO, NY – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Arbre Group Holding – doing business as Holli-Pac Inc. – for willful and serious violations of workplace safety and health standards at its Holley, New York, facility. The company, which packages frozen fruits and vegetables for retailers, faces a total of $200,791 in penalties.
