Purpose:

  • The purpose of the Labor Research and Evaluation grants is to build evidence around issues of importance to the Department of Labor and American public, including critical issues related to worker protection, safety and human capital development. These grants will continue to build the capacity of university-based researchers to rigorously examine these issues while building awareness and understanding of these issues among program administrators, policy makers and the public.

Project Overview:

  • Nearly $2 million was awarded to nine university grantees to support research on workforce policies and programs.
  • A wide range of topics are being explored, all with a focus on evaluating or researching a topic that has direct implications for DOL program, the labor force and the American worker.
  • All grantees will submit a final report detailing their research findings.
