- In 2023, New Mexico (7.1%), Delaware (5.4%), and Nevada (5.2%) had the highest unemployment rates for veterans. The lowest unemployment rates for veterans were in Connecticut (0.4%), Oklahoma (1.0%), and Alabama / North Dakota (1.1%).
- During the COVID-19 economic shutdown, unemployment rates for veterans were greater than or equal to 6.0% in 29 states, with Michigan (11.3%), Arizona (9.6%), and Nevada (9.4%) reporting the highest rates in 2020.
