This report represents a collaborative effort by the U.S. Departments of Labor (DOL) and Education (ED) in publishing information brief descriptions and current status of twenty-two business-education-labor partnerships which developed voluntary skill standards for various industries in 1992 and 1993. The descriptions or summaries include the industry represented, the occupations for skill standards were developed, federal funds received and non-federal funds contributed, when standards would be available and contact person(s). This publication serves as a valuable resource to the business, labor, education, and training communities interested in using these standards to inform their activities. The products resulting from the twenty-two projects should help communitites in their efforts to promote productivity and contribute to the development of a workforce prepared for the 21st century.
