Human Service Transportation Coordination Resources Developed by the United We Ride Initiative
PurposeThe purpose of this Training and Employment Notice is to announce the availability of several recently released resources designed to facilitate the coordination of human service transportation systems. These resources were developed under the United We Ride initiative. United We Ride is an interagency Federal initiative that supports states and localities in developing coordinated human service delivery systems. In addition to awarding state coordination grants, United We Ride provides state and local agencies a transportation coordination and planning self-assessment tool, technical assistance, and other resources to help communities succeed.

Waiver Flexibility for Hurricane Katrina Recovery
PurposeThe purpose of this Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) is to provide states with a list of provisions of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) that have previously been waived or new provisions that have not been waived but are within the statutory waiver authority under the WIA regulations at 20 CFR 661,440. These waivers will provide states with increased flexibility to respond to job seekers and business needs in hurricane-affected areas and areas receiving an influx or evacuees. Included is an explanation of the flexibility provided by the workforce flexibility (work-flex) provisions of the regulations.
