Benefit Accuracy Measurement (BAM) Program Operations in Response to the Coronavirus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic
PurposeThe purpose of this Unemployment Insurance Program Letter (UIPL) is to provide guidance to State Workforce Agencies on changes in the operation of the BAM program, including BAM sample selection and case management applications, as a result of issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. These COVID-19-related issues include the unprecedented increases in Unemployment Insurance (UI) program workloads and the new Unemployment Compensation (UC) programs created in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Public Law 116-136), including the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program, which provides a federal payment of $600 in addition to the state Weekly Benefit Amount (WBA).
