Veterans’ Employment and Training Service launched the Off-Base Transition Training pilot program, in accordance with Section 4303 of the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (Public Law 116-315). Section 4303 directed the Secretary of Labor to provide Transition Assistance Program employment workshops to veterans and their spouses at locations other than military installations for five years, focusing on improving employment-related outcomes in areas with high veteran unemployment. Currently, the pilot has not been reauthorized or extended.
