Section 1148 of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act (TWWIIA) established the Ticket to Work and Self- Sufficiency Program or "Ticket to Work." This program is for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. It connects them to free employment services through employment networks that can help prepare them find and succeed in a job. People who decide to participate in the Ticket to Work program receive career counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and job training and placement. Employment networks are often part of DOL's public workforce system and may include American Job Centers.
